FAQ

"Why should I use a recruiter?"
As a broker thinking about changing firms, your confidentiality is of utmost importance.  A recruiter allows you to explore options while maintaining a posture of strength. In addition, the “due diligence” required to be undertaken prior to making a change can become a full time job. By letting Diamond Consultants perform this task for you, you can continue to focus on the growth and success of your business.

“What do the deals look like?”
There is no “cookie cutter” formula for the deals being offered. All packages are crafted on an individual basis and are based on many factors. Diamond Consultants always knows what the current range of deals looks like. If you have specific questions about transition packages, please call us directly and we would be happy to discuss them with you personally.

“What can a recruiter do for me?"
We bring credibility to your search based on our tremendous knowledge and reputation in the industry. We streamline the process and perform the due diligence that is necessary to meet your needs and goals and those of your clients. We bring you access to major firms and those opportunities of which you may not currently be aware. We bring integrity, expertise, strong industry knowledge and commitment to the process.

You are the expert when it comes to meeting your clients’ needs. Shouldn’t you obtain the same type of professional assistance when you are seeking to make a career move?

“Who pays Diamond Consultant’s fee if I am placed?”
The hiring firm pays our fees.  Our role is to serve as your advocate.

"Won't the deal I am offered be reduced by using a recruiter?"
No!  In fact, statistics show that when a recruiter is involved, the size of the transition package is the most aggressive and includes items that a candidate working without a recruiter, often neglects.  The transition package that you receive from the hiring firm will not be impacted by recruiting fees. Hiring firms regard these fees as part of their cost of doing business.

“I know everyone on the street; why shouldn’t I use my contacts
to find the right firm?”

You may know managers or brokers from some of the other firms but you still need unbiased and accurate information on all of your options to choose the best fit for you and your clients.  In fact, we know there are many firms that do not currently have offices in your town, but are looking to establish a presence there. When you speak to only a few firms, you may not know whether the offer you receive is competitive. When you partner with Diamond Consultants, we use our knowledge and expertise to advise you on what kinds of deals are being offered and what kinds of brokers are successful at which firms.

“Does Diamond Consultants work for a particular firm?"
No, we are independent recruiters.  Our independence allows us to better serve both our candidates and clients.  We will never attempt to force a fit between a candidate and a firm. Our job is to find the right firm for you and your clients. Our goal is to streamline the process of matching the right candidates with the right brokerage firms or banks based upon the candidates’ personal, professional, and financial goals, as well as those of their clients.

“I have a question about my U-4/ U-5. Who should I talk to?”
Questions concerning your U-4/U-5 are best answered by an attorney or other securities professional (We would be happy to refer you to a competent attorney who specializes in the area of broker compliance and employment issues.) If you have general questions about how your U-4 or U-5 reads, or its impact upon your ability to change firms, please call Diamond Consultants directly and we will be happy to talk with you personally.
